(Aku) Eziaku L Chijioke has been with Kaiser for 25 years and 13 of the dedicated years at Ontario Medical Center. Aku is one of the hardest-working nurse leaders in KP, and she has a strong vision for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovation in professional practice. Aku leads the Ontario Medical Center to receive Magnet Designation. With the high demands of Magnet and managing the dialysis & PICC departments, she never misses a beat. And at one time, she managed transportation.

Aku is a great motivator and is a driving force for professionalism for our clinical nurses. Her work ethic ensures that the med center clinical nurses transform care at the bedside by always putting the patient and family first. Aku is a good listener, attentive, and thorough, and always motivates managers to turn in high-quality tests of change projects and evidence-based practice until Magnet Magic Exemplars. Aku sits quietly behind the scenes, humbly serving our medical center. She collaborates with the entire medical center to ensure the entire hospital is magnetized and achieves our strategic plan to continue our roadmap to nursing excellence. Her passion for capturing the story of Kaiser Ontario’s Culture of excellence is unveiling. Aku is a great nurse leader and role model for exemplary practice at Ontario Medical Center.
