Sarah is one of the most outstanding nurses I have worked with. During a busy shift where she was managing multiple sick patients, she worked diligently and consistently to expedite a patient's much-needed emergent workup. Specifically, we shared a particularly sick patient, and both the patient and I were fortunate that Sarah was the nurse. She did an excellent job advocating for the patient, which resulted in him getting the imaging he needed; ultimately, he was found to have a stroke. If it was not for her amazing care, this would not have been identified in a timely manner. It is without question that the patient had a better outcome and received better care because of Sarah.

What impressed me the most was that she did this with utmost compassion and patience. Despite managing multiple sick patients, she communicated with me and the rest of the care team to ensure the patient received the care he needed. It is because of her incredible character, compassionate care, and hard work that I wholeheartedly believe that she should be chosen for a DAISY Award. I have had the good fortune to work with Sarah several times, and she has demonstrated these qualities time and again.
