Kristina was our preop nurse for my son. He had broken his arm and was there for a closed reduction/possible open, needing a plate and pins. He was extremely nervous and really didn’t want the plate as it would kind of take away his summer. Kristina hopped right in, was extremely warm and kind, and spoke to him on his level, asking him lots of questions and telling him stories about her pets and family. She went above and beyond in making sure he knew what was going on and who all the different people were, and she was warm and comfortable while also making sure I was comfortable as well. He went from shaking and terrified to calm and comfortable. When he was taken back for surgery, he said he finally felt comfortable about it, and I have no doubt that it was all due to Kristina. We need more nurses like Kristina!
