I don’t know where to start expressing my appreciation for his medical skills, communications, attention to detail, etc., and I wanted to make sure you know of his contribution.
Several months ago, it became evident I needed to have a total knee replacement. I was fortunate to be able to get a wide range of opinions, including doctors from the VA, Rothmans Orthopedic, and Jewitt Orthopedic. After all the advice, I decided to have the surgery performed at the VA. Although I’m still looking to have two months of therapy, I’m well on my way to total recovery after just two weeks.
This extensive process began with X-rays, then MRI, orthopedics consultation, blood work, per-op, surgery, inpatient care, and now home health care. I estimate it involved 25-30 members of your organization.
I wanted to let you know that I am totally amazed with the members of the staff for their professionalism, skills, and compassion. I am equally amazed at the smoothness of the processes, communications, and the handoffs between all the different teams.
Of all the options I had to have this procedure done, I know I made the right choice to have the services at the Orlando VA.
It’s hard to single out any one member of your team, but in all fairness, I do want to point out one: Steven J. Velazquez. He was the last nurse I saw the day I was discharged. I don’t know where to start expressing my appreciation for his medical skills, communications, attention to detail, etc., and I wanted to make sure you know of his contribution.
On my way out the door, I told him I knew you and would let you know I would let you know of the excellent care he gave me. If you find it fitting, I hope you take a couple of minutes to invite him to your office, share my appreciation of him and send me a picture. He deserves it, and it would mean so much to him and me.
I look forward to working with you and your staff on many more activities, including the Shark Tank, in 2024. A big thanks to you and your incredible staff for providing medical care in my time of need.
Note: This is Steven's 2nd DAISY Award!
