Despite encountering multiple barriers along the way, Tyler remained steadfast in his advocacy for the patient, ensuring that every step was taken with the patient's best interests at heart.
It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Tyler Rice for an award in recognition of his exceptional dedication and commitment to patient care. In the time that I have had the privilege of working alongside Tyler, I have consistently witnessed his unwavering dedication to going above and beyond in providing the highest level of care to his patients. One particular instance this week stands out, where Tyler demonstrated extraordinary compassion, advocacy, and determination in facilitating a patient's transition to home hospice care.
Tyler was in a resource role on the unit, and despite being very busy, he took the time to sit with a patient who appeared very sad and frustrated. Tyler looked past the patient’s seemingly grumpy demeanor and got to the heart of the patient’s concerns. The patient just wanted to be home with his family and not suffer in the hospital any longer. Tyler recognized the true needs of the whole patient, mind, and body. From that moment on, he did not stop fighting for the patient’s goals.
