I received a phone call from a patient at Benefis. They were recently shot at work, and Kyle Vandenacre happened to be in the drive-through. During the scenario, Kyle figured out what was going on and gained entry to the premises (he crawled through the drive-through window) and began rendering aid to the patient with food service gloves until EMS arrived. The patient called to make sure Benefis and I knew how much Kyle helped him and what an amazing person he was to do that for him. They wanted Kyle and the teams that cared for him to know that he had been released back to full duty and that he is back at his “other” job. The patient sounds great and is truly thankful for everything that Kyle did in the moment and the care that all of our teams provided to him.
