For the next couple of days, Gabi was the best part of our stay here at Banner Baywood.
I was brought to Banner Baywood Hospital by ambulance. At the time, I was being treated as a stroke patient due to the symptoms I was having.
After many tests were run, I was admitted to the ICU. Gabi and her nursing assistant were the first ones to greet my wife and me. She explained how they would be dedicated to my care. Her smile and demeanor certainly helped to calm us down during this very scary time. For the next couple of days, Gabi was the best part of our stay here at Banner Baywood. She would explain to us what the plan was, which tests were ordered and why, and update us on incoming results. All of this information continued to put us at ease.
Gabi also helped to keep our large family at bay as so many of them came to visit. My family and friends also grew to love Gabi as they watched how she cared for me and my wife. You can really tell how much Gabi cares about everything she does.
I hear that the ER and ICU can be so intimidating for anyone, especially when you do not know what is going on with your body. I truly believe that Gabi was heaven-sent to us during our time of need.
When I was discharged home, Gabby was off of work. I just had to come back to give her a hug and say thank you. There is no other person who could have made us feel the way that she did. Gabi really is an angel.
