When I was admitted, I was extremely ill and spent a few days in the ICU. When transferred to the third floor, I was quite weak and still dealing with pneumonia and issues from CO2 retention. Feeling very scared about all that was happening to me, I was so blessed to meet my nurse for the next two days! Victoria is amazing! Her love for her patients was obvious from the minute she walked into my room. Her gentle touch, kind words, and bright smile were so comforting! She listens to me and treats me with respect! When I requested to have some of my medicines restarted, she immediately contacted the doctor and was able to get the medication for me. By her responses to my many questions and requests, it was clear that Victoria was very knowledgeable about her job and seemed up-to-date on medical issues. We shared a few personal stories that helped add that "human" touch to my care. Having been in different hospitals over the past several years, I can honestly say that Victoria is the "shining example" of a hospital nurse! I would like to nominate Victoria for the DAISY Award because she truly goes above and beyond when working with her patients! Thank you, Victoria!
