I went in to deliver my first baby. Unbeknownst to me, I was already 9 cm dilated, and they took my husband and me right back to deliver our daughter. This was a whirlwind experience, as we weren’t expecting me to be so far along already. Mel was phenomenal during the whole process. I was lucky to have such a patient, kind, and caring nurse on that night. She was a rock and supporting shoulder for me through the whole labor and delivery process. She not only took time for me as her patient but continuously checked on and reassured my husband. She was such a huge support for me as I didn’t know what to expect or do. She made the whole process as comfortable as possible for me. I will never forget how supportive and comfortable she made me feel during my delivery. The whole time, she kept telling me how much of a rockstar I was. But truth be told, she is the rockstar. I was lucky to have her as my nurse, and PAH is lucky to have her, too, as she is a true asset to your team. I couldn’t have imagined having anyone else with me as I delivered. She took the time with me to ensure I was okay, even if that meant she was behind on charting.
