I am not quite sure how you thank someone for caring so much and giving so much while at the same time keeping their cool and displaying the height of professionalism, but that is what Allison and her colleagues did. My mom had a valve replace procedure in March. My stepfather and I sat with her all day. In the evening, we needed to leave in order to grab a bite to eat, take care of dogs and rest as it had been a stressful and long day. Up until then my mom had been doing okay. Yes she wanted to go home and she kept asking to be able to but nothing too bad. Oh I forgot to mention, my mom is in the late early/mid stage of dementia.

Allison was amazing with my mom post-procedure all day long. She treated her with the utmost respect and care. Mom is a bit of a drama queen at the best of times so one can imagine how she reacted to things like tape removal and repositioning. Allison never let it faze her. She always had a smile and word of care or encouragement. The efficiency and knowledge that she showed was beautiful. Oh and during this, she also worked on training a student nurse. Today, Thursday before Mom was discharged, Allison came on shift and stepped right up and once again blew us away with her care and empathy. Thank you so much for what you do! What a wonderful member of your staff!
