I was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday night due to a severe broken ankle and had to have surgery. Alfie was my nurse for two days out of the 6 days that I was admitted.  Out of 44 years of life and numerous hospital stays and procedures, Alfie has made the biggest impression on me throughout my 2 days with him. Alfie was proactive, caring, attentive, and personable; he explained things to me that I had questions about and was so patient with me. He also showed my caregiver how to assist me when I got home. Alfie made sure that his patients' care was a priority and that also included mental health. Often in life the lack of communication or improper communication can be as bad as the injury because of the unknown and worry. Alfie made sure that I understood what was going on at all time and answered my questions immediately even if he had to get information from a doctor. 

I truly felt that Alfie had my best interest in mind with everything he did versus just punching the clock and completely a shift. Alfie is an amazing and talented nurse whom I would choose to have to take care of me or anyone else. He made my experience so much better.

His compassion outshined anyone else in the medical field I have encountered.
