My hospital visit was supposed to be a normal delivery of my full-term baby boy. But when we got there, our sweet baby had no heartbeat. Our world turned upside down. Grace was there with me the entire time. She was more than just a nurse; she was a friend, a support, and an advocate. I was taken care of as if I was family. With my mind being so foggy, she anticipated my needs and ensured that I was receiving the best care possible. She contacted the mortuary for me and made the arrangements with them so that I could spend what little time I had with my son. She took the time to get to know my family and ensure their needs were met as well. She befriended my 6-year-old daughter and helped her feel comfortable in a place that was a little scary to her. She cheered me on in my recovery and helped make me as comfortable as possible. The kindness and love that Grace has in her heart were a daily inspiration and reminder that even though the situation was tough, we weren’t alone. I am so grateful to her for helping me through some of the most difficult days of my life, both physically and emotionally. She truly cared about me, my family, and my sweet baby boy. I can think of no one more deserving to be recognized for their charity, kindness, and light, more than Grace. She will always hold a place in my heart.
