Under CDR Burgos' leadership, his facility achieved an over 90% immunization rate and gave over 1,600 flu shots. In 2023, Hopi surpassed the State and National rates for three years in a row.
CDR Burgos is filling dual O6 billets in an isolated area: Hopi, Arizona caring for approximately 10,000 Tribal Members. He is the Director of the Public Health Program, and since 2/2023, the Acting Director of the Quality Management Program.  He supervises 15 staff members, is Chair of the Hospital Quality Council, STI Committee, and Risk Management Committees, and oversite of the Safety/Occupational Health and Quality Assurance Divisions. He has been on the hospital incident command team since June/2023 and is responsible for a $47 million renovation project. 

CDR Burgos manages a robust PHN Program with a $3 million budget. He oversees the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, a $300,000 program administering over 2,000 vaccines. He was the recipient of the Arizona Partnership for Immunizations Super Vaccinator Award. He was the subject matter expert of the Functional Status Assessment Workgroup, the IHS National Committee on Heroin, Opioid, and Pain Efforts. He tailored the staff development software program, Relias, to be administered to over 200 hospital employees and in getting policies approved and uploaded into Policy Stat in 2023.

CDR Burgos has been a major influence in the Hopi facilities' ability to pass its rigorous JCH Survey. He is the Chair of the Quality Council and Co-Chair of the Governing Body meetings, which ensures the highest level of quality for health care delivered.
