It is with immense pleasure and gratitude that I submit this nomination for CDR Solveig Johnson for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. As the Co-leader of the Nurse Professional Advisory Committee's (N-PAC) Promotion Preparedness Workgroup, CDR Johnson has exhibited unparalleled commitment, leadership, and innovation in her role. In her capacity as Co-lead, CDR Johnson has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, guiding a team of six individuals with grace and effectiveness. Her efforts have been instrumental in the development, implementation, and accessibility of over 20 webinars aimed at enhancing the professional development of nursing officers. Through her dedication, she has ensured that valuable resources are readily available to support the growth and success of her colleagues.
One of CDR Johnson’s most noteworthy achievements has been her pivotal role as the primary lead and facilitator for N-PAC's inaugural Promotion Panels. These panels have provided invaluable insights into the promotion process, offering guidance and support to officers aspiring to advance their careers to the ranks of LCDR, CDR, and CAPT. From 2019 to 2023, she has led over 15 panels, each with two to three panelists, meticulously coordinated practice sessions, created comprehensive slide decks, facilitated engaging discussions, and ensured sessions were recorded and distributed category-wide for the benefit of nurses seeking promotion readiness. Furthermore, she served as the moderator for the 3-member Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) panel presentation in 2022. In this role, she helped attendees with invaluable information about FAAN designation, the application process, and addressed audience questions with expertise and insight.
