My Husband of 51 years has been going through chemo and radiation treatments at Lake Region Cancer Center. We had a nurse named “Bonnie,” that touched our hearts. I actually cried on our way home, feeling overwhelmed by Nurse Bonnie’s care, concern, and passion for going the extra mile for her patient’s comfort. After going to the Cancer Center for just about 6 weeks, driving 50 miles one way from our home five days a week for chemo and radiation, Bonnie was the first nurse who asked my name and how I was doing! Brought me water, showed my husband and I that she really cares about both of us. She explained everything to us. Bonnie went to the Lab to ask why it was taking so long, no one has ever done that. I know my husband beating this Cancer is the #1, most important thing to me! To finally have someone see the love and concern I have for him, who cared how I was feeling, Bonnie opened up my heart to feel the way I was feeling and to know that it was okay!
