I had been really needing a hug for days and I told her this and without hesitation she gave me a real hug that really comforted me.
Nomination #1:
I met Anna in the middle of my stay. She is a very warm and sweet person who surely loves what she does. She encouraged me to share more of how I was feeling and even felt compelled to share that there were many ways that she could relate to me/my life. That made me feel more normal and more at ease. Anna truly embodies and radiates compassion and empathy. She told me multiple times how proud she was of me and how strong I was. I had been really needing a hug for days and I told her this and without hesitation she gave me a real hug that really comforted me. She stood out as my most compassionate nurse willing to truly do anything in her power for her patients. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will always remember you.
Nomination #2:
Anna is the sweetest person. She has so much compassion for every patient here. She is a supportive listener. I woke up feeling very anxious and asked the tech for her. She was right by my side comforting me as symptoms did not subside. We came up with a game plan – she started my laundry, and collected shampoo, conditioner, my face wash, towel and razor for me to shave. She sat here in my bathroom with me and let me vent to her while I shaved. This totally turned my day around and led me to feeling ready to discharge. She continued to have encouraging words for me every time I stopped by the desk. She is such a a light to have in the unit

I enjoyed having Anna greatly as my nurse. Anna allowed me to come to her and open up when I needed to and showed true empathy/compassion when listening to me talk about my fears/frustrations. Anna is kind, gentle, and constantly checked on me throughout the day when she was my nurse. It’s the little things. Her bubbly personality made me smile. I’m so glad I felt safe with Anna and that she told me I was strong and that things would get better. It meant the world to me to have Anna as a listening ear and to be validated. Thank you, Anna, for taking care of me during my stay.
