My son had to come into Meritus ER for care. He was a former employee and needed medical attention for detox. Carol was the triage nurse that day and put him at ease and she even asked him if he would feel more comfortable waiting in a smaller waiting room to give him privacy. The compassionate care that she demonstrated that day was above and beyond. She was very supportive and encouraging and did not make my son feel ashamed for seeking medical attention. She treated him and consulted all the necessary interdisciplinary teams so he could have the best chance of recovery. We are forever grateful for her care. She made me proud of my profession and I hope she is recognized for her kindness. It was one of our worst days, but she made it better.
