I'd like to nominate Sandy for her dedication and compassionate care of our daughter, who was born 6 weeks early and spent 5 days in the special care nursery. As new parents and faced with our premature baby, we were overwhelmed and terrified. Sandy was a wonderful guide, providing not only expert medical expertise but also showing us tremendous support, kindness, and reassurance during an incredibly challenging time. Sandy went above and beyond to monitor Baby M's progress, provide personalized care, and sat with us patiently over many nights to teach us how to care for our tiny baby--including by late-night phone calls. After I was discharged, I could sleep easier at home, knowing Sandy was there for our daughter. When I was frustrated with breastfeeding, Sandy offered words of encouragement and worked with us to find solutions that fit our family’s needs. Sandy taught us how to change her diaper and how to burp her, encouraged skin-to-skin, and really spent countless hours with us to make sure we were comfortable and capable of handling our baby. We are forever grateful for the exceptional care she has provided, and we can’t thank her enough.
