My family owes an immense debt to Julia. As this was our first labor and delivery experience, we went into the hospital with what seemed to be an endless list of unknowns. No birthing class can truly prepare you for this, as my wife and I arrived later in the day, it wasn’t long until we met her. I knew from the start that we would be ok. My wife and I are very anxious people.  Childbirth and anxiety do not make good partners.  We didn’t need to worry about that with her. We knew we were safe, and she was going to take care of us and protect my wife and provide unparalleled care. She found her calling, the people under her care benefit from this. There were no stupid questions, my fears were calmed, andmy wife’s pain was eased. Even when my son was born and she had two people to care for, she kept going. When it was time for her to leave, my wife sobbed, their connection was strong. I took ill on the morning of my son’s first day of life. The nurse provided care. Your hospital is better because Julia works for you.
