Ms. Salma Najjar is our nurse clinician in the NICU. I would like to thank her for her extraordinary efforts in making the NICU a safe place for our vulnerable babies. Ms. Salma always finds a way to improve the existing practice in our unit. She always thinks of how to provide the quality care our patient deserves. She brings up her concerns with the unit council, and together, we will brainstorm and come up with the best practices we can give to our patients. She goes beyond her duty as a clinician. She is a mentor, a mother, and a friend. She gives us a tap on the shoulder to say, “You did a good job, I am proud of you,” and “I know you can do it. I never doubted your capabilities.” These words left a mark on my heart personally because I never knew that I was capable of something until I heard from her. She excels in everything, and she is a good educator. The way she teaches us makes us better nurses. I have been working in the NICU for years now, and I can say that I am the best that I have been as a nurse since I started working with her. 
Ms. Salma deserves recognition because she is hard-working, has leadership skills, and has compassion for our patients. She always strives for the best. I will always look up to her as an epitome of a perfect nurse.
