My son passed the next day, and I could not help but think about how I felt when Kaitlyn did all she could so I could hold him that night.
Kaitlyn was my night nurse back in November when I had my son via emergency c-section. I was in a car accident that led my son to be born early, and Kaitlyn handled my anxiety and stress so well. I was not supposed to get out of bed, so I called Kaitlyn many times, wanting to see my son in view. I know I drove her crazy asking so many times, and her answer was the same: "I paged the trauma team." At 12:50 am, she came in and said, "I paged the team, and as long as your collar is on, you are good to go!!" I had tears in my eyes as she helped me up and got me in a wheelchair to go see my son. I could not thank her enough. My son passed the next day, and I could not help but think about how I felt when Kaitlyn did all she could so I could hold him that night. She probably doesn't know it, but she truly gave me the world that night.
