Liam shares his love for nursing as a gift that shines God’s love through him to each patient’s life he cares for.
Nomination #1:
My 14-year-old son was in the hospital for an infection that had occurred after having his appendix out. We were there a total of 15 days. Towards the end of the stay my son was very sick and just emotionally drained. Liam walked in during nurse shift change and said, “Hey bud, it’s bro’s night tonight!” Liam gave him a fist pump and was so personable. My son’s face lit up and as soon as he walked out, he was so excited to have him as his nurse. He looked over and said, “Yes it’s going to be a good night. He is awesome!” Liam would come in so happy, ask what movie we were watching, and help my son in any area he needed, He really made him feel amazing and comfortable. He would sit and talk to him. He got to know about my son's life. They shared the love for tractors and farming. They connected so well that every night towards the nurse shift change my son would get excited cause he knew he would be coming in. I know that for a 14-year-old boy to have to sit in the hospital and be so sick to have someone touch his life was amazing and in many ways was an answered prayer. On the last night my son was there, his nurse Liam got bumped to a different part of the pediatric unit. That didn’t stop Liam from coming down and chatting with him giving, him a hug, and telling him to come over in the spring to go fishing. Liam even came in before he left for the morning shift change and personally said bye to him. Liam portrayed a love for nursing. He was so spot on with all his work, his ethical values were very genuine, and he truly cared for his patients. Working in the part of the medical field myself, you can tell when a person truly has a love and passion for what they do and Liam showed every ounce of compassion and strength for his patients. He truly cares for his patients and it’s more than just a job to him...it’s his calling. Liam shares his love for nursing as a gift that shines God’s love through him to each patient’s life he cares for.
Nomination #2:
My husband and I wanted to nominate nurse Liam. He was absolutely phenomenal during our 5-month-old daughter’s stay. He went above and beyond checking on not only her, but on my husband and I. He was personable, knowledgeable, kind and supportive. Liam even brought snacks for my husband and I and encouraged us to eat and care for ourselves while our daughter was recovering. He significantly changed our experience being in the hospital and we are so grateful for him and his bedside manner. Thank you, Liam!
