While our son was in the ICU for 19 days, Ruth took ownership over his care. Not only was she highly skilled in caring for him, but she was also caring and compassionate and made sure we stayed informed and answered our many questions. Above all, she was a great advocate for him. When he was “technically” due to be discharged, Ruth knew he was still at a very high risk of becoming unstable, and she advocated for him to stay a few more days, which was granted. It was a great relief to us, and we were so thankful for her because he required more intense care due to some additional issues that had developed. She was not afraid to suggest changes to the doctors when indicated. We hope she will be recognized for going above and beyond in caring for him. Thank you so much, Ruth.
