Lyndie, without fail, will reorient patients by taking them outside for fresh air and will sit with them as long as time permits and converse with them. In doing so, she provides care not only for their physical well-being but also for their overall mental health.
Every nurse we had during our week-long stay in STICU was exceptional.  Lyndie, however, was perfection: detailed, caring, patient, informative, optimistic, and encouraging.  She took the initiative to go above and beyond and made our time in the hospital almost enjoyable. HA!

Improving health, healing people. When it comes to our collective mission at NAH, there's no one who better emulates and achieves that exact statement than Lyndie. As an FMC employee of 10+ years, Lyndie has led the charge when it comes to demonstrating our mission values, as her hardworking, selfless acts as a nurse are best exemplified through her outstanding patient care skills that exceed the bare minimum of her job requirements.

As an STICU trauma nurse, her patients have critical injuries that often require long stays, which typically can induce ICU delirium. To prevent this from happening, Lyndie, without fail, will reorient patients by taking them outside for fresh air and will sit with them as long as time permits and converse with them. In doing so, she provides care not only for their physical well-being but also for their overall mental health. Furthermore, she has also demonstrated her strengths in patient advocacy, as she has championed our unit in getting sunglasses for these patients so that their outside experience is the most enjoyable that it can be.

These examples are one of many where Lyndie has gone above and beyond to improve her patient's health and their overall vitality in living a full life. As her fellow coworker of over 5 years, I have had the pleasure of working alongside Lyndie and have seen her work proudly for our hospital and the ever-changing patients that we serve. There is no one more deserving of the DAISY Award than my fellow colleague Lyndie.
