Kim has created a unit centered around trust, respect, compassion, advocacy, and support for her team.
Kim joined Baptist South for the 5B and 6D teams and has been the epitome of what this award represents. She leads her teams with clinical expertise to support safe and quality patient care. She possesses strong leadership skills to foster education and professional development. Kim seeks all opportunities to create a unit where staff feel respected and valued as part of her team. She recognizes staff on an individual basis to motivate and support them in their professional endeavors. Kim is loving and kind, always compassionate on personal and professional levels. However, she is also a fierce advocate to ensure the safety of her teams and the patients we care for. Kim has taken a keen interest in getting to know her team members to help enhance their learning and growth on the unit. She wants to elevate staff and the unit by providing guidance and mentorship to enhance performance and quality outcomes. Kim has created a unit centered around trust, respect, compassion, advocacy, and support for her team. I cannot think of anyone who would be more deserving of this award.

Kim joined our team last year. She came in quietly and took time to get to know her staff. Recently, I have been able to see how we both really care deeply about not only the patients we care for on 5B, but the staff as well. Kim has a passion for developing team members, including myself, and encourages each of us to become better nurses (and ACPs). She truly has my back as I carry out the duties as an ANM (an extension of her as well). She has the qualities that exemplify the mission of the Baptist. All nurse managers should strive to become the leader that Kim is in her daily endeavors as she supports her employees to improve the quality and safety of the care we all deliver.
Thank you, Kim, for all you do for our patients, families, and team members!
