Her compassion and respect for individuals allow for relationships to form and grow, exemplifying relationship-based care between her and her staff. Staff can then take those experiences and foster them into patient care.
Lauren has been a breath of fresh air for our unit. She always maintains a professional attitude and provides a sense of calm to the entire team. Lauren believes in every single person on our team and trusts that we make the right decisions in the moment. She instills confidence in all the nursing staff members and engages us in decision-making for the unit. Lauren is respectful of all opinions and truly cares about what we have to say. Lauren makes herself available to us and jumps in to help with patient care at any moment. Lauren really cares about each of us individually and makes sure to get in touch after an especially tough shift to make sure we are doing ok. I'm so thankful for Lauren's leadership.

Lauren checks in with staff regularly and you can tell she truly wants to know how you're doing. For example, she intentionally checks in if she knows you had a tough shift. She is so kind and caring. Lauren has been a wonderful leader for our team.

Unfortunately, Family Birthplace experienced some time when it felt as if our unit was falling apart, which staff admitted to prior leadership. However, since Lauren joined FBP as the manager, the overall environment of FBP has returned to where the attributes of trust, compassion, and mutual respect can be felt again. Generally, humans are followers and with Lauren being a present leader on the unit and role models professional behaviors, staff follow along. To begin with, Lauren's warm, welcoming smile brings joy and positivity to the unit. Her compassion and respect for individuals allow for relationships to form and grow, exemplifying relationship-based care between her and her staff. Staff can then take those experiences and foster them into patient care. Lastly, I would voice the stellar job she does ensuring the right people are doing the work that needs to be done, ensuring shared decision-making occurs on the unit, and involving staff in projects and decisions when applicable. All in all, Lauren has been a delight to work with since she arrived on the unit as FBP manager.

Lauren has been a breath of fresh air for our team in Family Birthplace since she walked through the doors to be our manager. She has been the calm after the storm with her outstanding leadership skills and professional behavior. She truly cares about each of us, and it shows. She checks in with staff throughout the day and always has a smile on her face. She cares about our unit and wants what's best for patients and staff. If Lauren doesn't know the answer to something, she will find the right person who does. She doesn't pretend to know something if she doesn't. Lauren will also come out of her office to help when we are surging. Overall, Lauren has flipped this unit/atmosphere around for the better and I can't thank her enough. You can trust her and know that she will have your back. Keep being you, Lauren and the phenomenal leader that you are. It is appreciated more than words can say.

Lauren has literally saved Family Birthplace. Our entire nursing and provider team feels so lucky and blessed to have her leading our department. She is so professional, respectful, kind, caring, compassionate, and passionate when interacting with our patients and their families and our entire FBP department. She is always checking in at the nurse's station on what is happening in our unit. She is very organized and sends a weekly update of all the important information to our emails. She is so approachable when we have concerns or questions. She is knowledgeable and will go out of her way to make sure our patients and staff are well cared for. She is amazing in every way! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. I have been a nurse for a long time, and she is one of the best nurse leaders/directors I have worked with. She is always smiling and has a positive attitude even on our most difficult days. She is so deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award!

Lauren brings the sunshine each day she steps on the unit. When she took over as our nurse manager. We had been without one for some months. She was tasked with many demands and took them all on, addressed, organized and fulfilled them seamlessly. She is so knowledgeable, professional and kind. There is no one more deserving of this award!
