Today was a very emotional day for Kyra and multiple staff members. We had a young mother in critical condition in CCU. This patient was traveling with her four young children during the holidays and was not feeling well. The children were at the hotel alone and had no knowledge of how critical their mom was. Kyra was able to get these children to the hospital before their mom coded and passed away. Kyra and our chaplain stayed with the children for four hours until their grandmother got here from New York. Kyra fed the children and took up a collection of nearly $500 to help these kids after the sudden loss of their mother.

To add to this day a small child approximately 2 years old came in as an only survivor in a head on collision. Kyra held the staff together and contacted Spiritual Care for Genesis Peer Support (GPS) intervention. This was extremely needed after these events for the staff and Community Ambulance Services. She went above and beyond today and is a true DAISY Nurse.
