Jenn came in the next day on her day off to check in with the family and with staff to do what she could to help with the grieving process.
The ICU cared for a patient with a fetal demise. This was very unusual for the unit and very out of our "wheelhouse." Jenn came down to the unit without anyone asking, and the first thing she said was, "What questions do you have?" We had many. Jenn educated us on the bereavement process and how best to support the patient and family when it was decided that the fetus was to be delivered in the ICU. She prepared us on what could be expected during the birth/condition of the fetus/what equipment we would need/resources if we had questions. It was invaluable. And it didn't stop there.

Jenn came in the next day on her day off to check in with the family and with staff to do what she could to help with the grieving process. She spoke with each member of the family and compiled a list of resources that would be available to the family after discharge. She even created even more mementos and keepsakes of the fetus for the family to cherish for the years to come. There are no words to describe how welcome and grateful we are for her help during this process. Thank you so much, Jenn!
