I want to nominate my colleague, Ms. Asuncion Antonio as a hardworking employee who always goes beyond the goals set for our department. She is a highly skilled nurse, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and consistently displays and promotes the highest ethical standards. She effectively demonstrates the true meaning of patient and family advocacy and is committed to her work. She is an expert in building relationships with her colleagues, models emotionally intelligent behaviors, and has been extremely helpful with all the staff to ensure comfort when caring for ill patients. She demonstrates exemplary nursing skills and works consistently in a timely manner. In addition to this, Ms. Asuncion, as a VIP UBC Chairperson, came up with an innovative idea about the drain bag since this was the feedback from the patient's frustrations with drains especially having 2 or more in place when ambulating. Ms. Asuncion has shared an excellent initiative which was proven effectively with positive comments/feedback from the patients where patient satisfaction was met.
