Nurse Meade recently suffered an unbelievable loss, with her son tragically passing away. He was very young and this was unexpected. Nurse Meade only took a couple of days off from work. Of course, our medical unit was all concerned for her well-being. Nurse Meade has since demonstrated unbelievable resilience. Since her return, she has continued to go above and beyond for our medical unit. She is our Clinical Nurse Supervisor. Nurse Meade has performed her administrative duties, as expected, but she is also always out and about in our unit, visiting with patients and assisting her nursing staff with whatever is needed. She is very compassionate to those she serves. Nurse Meade tackles every challenge in a professional manner. A recent example of this occurred just the other day. Working in corrections can be very stressful. The above example interaction has been witnessed many times by our nurses, and I have found that it is contagious and benefits our unit and facility. Despite Nurse Meade's difficult loss, she has continued to make a positive impact on the population of patients we serve. Nurse Meade is truly deserving of this acknowledgement.
