Carlie always makes time to support my needs, the needs of teams, and the needs of patients. She is open and understanding to building trusting relationships where ideas and suggestions are welcomed.
Carlie always makes it OK to ask the question. She is incredibly understanding and has a patient-centered perspective. The number of conversations I have had with her just regarding Fall Prevention is astronomical, yet she never gets annoyed or short with me. She makes it a point to round and ensure my questions are answered. When I onboarded, she even rounded in my departments with me to have an additional set of eyes, looking at potential opportunities and brainstorming potential solutions. When she does not have an immediate answer, she circles back and closes the loop. Carlie's safety mindset applies to the environment of care safety for our patients, as well as psychosocial safety for colleagues.

Carlie always makes time to support my needs, the needs of teams, and the needs of patients. She is open and understanding to building trusting relationships where ideas and suggestions are welcomed. She truly embodies the evidence-based perspective that we should never do something just because "That is what we have always done." While interacting with people, she positively affirms their ideas and perceptions to build a culture where people are not afraid to give suggestions and feedback.

Carlie often ends sentences with "What do you think?" She appreciates that there is not a "One Size Fits All" solution to dynamic challenges. She takes the time to allow creative and critical thinking to shape solutions, within the parameters of policies/procedures/standards of care. When I need help, she either schedules a TEAMS meeting or rounds to answer questions face-to-face.

Carlie is empowering with her words and actions. She makes you feel and believe that nursing has a voice in all the challenges we face in healthcare. I appreciate how she lives the PDCA cycle. She is always open to evaluating current standards and making things better for what we see today.
