Timofey joined our team to take care of one of our patients who was in the hospital for over a year waiting for home health services. This patient is critically ill and medically fragile. The father is a single dad and is Spanish-speaking. The transition home did not go smoothly due to a lack of supplies and medications, but Timofey worked tirelessly calling pharmacies and medical supply companies to get the correct necessities to provide excellent bedside care. That was nine months ago, and he still takes charge of keeping the medical supplies correct and corresponds with the patient's team of doctors to order the medications that are needed. He will come in on his day off to help transport this patient to doctor's appointments since there are few companies willing to transport a critically ill patient with lifesaving equipment. Timofey has even learned Spanish so that he can communicate better with Father. This father was initially reluctant to trust home care companies in the past, but because of the relationship that Timofey has formed with him, he no longer has trouble putting his trust in home health. In fact, the father has nicknamed him ‘Timo’! Our team has sent many new nurses to train with Timofey, and he has provided such a great learning experience to so many. Additionally, he truly has the biggest heart with the desire to advocate for his patient and provide so much love to this family. Timofey exemplifies all of the HALOS Values, and we are so fortunate to have him a part of our Angels of Care family.
