Naomi Collier in the 4th floor CICU quite literally helped save my sister's life. My sister had a full cardiac arrest. She had coded and had CPR administered six times before a successful stent was placed. When she arrived at the Cardiac ICU, she was still very critical. Naomi was the most attentive, intelligent, and professional nurse I have ever witnessed. Keeping my sister alive and at optimum health was, to use Naomi's words, "a delicate balance." My sister had a machine in her heart, a ventilator, and countless IVs with more fluid bags than I have ever seen. Naomi rarely left her side and was so caring. She kept our sister clean, organized, and as comfortable as possible, all the while sharing valuable information with our family. Fast forward one month, and we are headed to Rusk today, where my sister is starting rehab, which is one step closer to home. I have no doubt that Naomi played a huge part in why our sister is with us today and has full cognitive functions. We will never forget!
