Aida has been working with MemorialCare for over 20 years and we love her and appreciate her leadership.  When Aida is on duty, she always talks with a soft and sweet voice on the phone and in person; she's the thermal of the unit, and staff feels safe and peaceful seeing her there on her chair and around.  Aida is very thoughtful and caring for the staff, especially the new nurses.  She checked in with a new grad who injured his feet and was on LOA. Aida was so worried about this poor kid since his family was not local.  Aida checked in with him and provided guidance so he could find the available resources to survive.  Aida helps with nurse retention and recognition by planning and preparing unit celebrations when a new graduate RN hits one year, which means a lot to them and to the team, too. 

Aida is so good at digging into the root cause when things happen; she spends time investigating, following up with staff, and providing great coaching, not blaming but sharing resources.

She's compassionate about what she does and did a great job leading 3 East through Covid by sharing her knowledge and providing support to staff.

One day, 3 East had a visitor situation, which she had to escalate and get management and law enforcement involved.  I watched her handling the situation so peacefully, no others got stressed about it and everyone was able to focus on their own patient care.

We feel so blessed to have Aida as our DAISY Nurse Leader.
