I would like to nominate Eula from the Torrance Memorial Medical Center for taking such amazing care of my elderly mother in March 2024. This was my mother’s first experience (needing her to be hospitalized for several days) since going to the doctor after giving birth to me- which was 43 years! Eula’s loving and caring personality really made my mother feel at ease during her hospitalization. This experience had been quite a difficult one only because my mother hadn’t been to the doctor in decades to then have many tests, needles, needing assistance going to the bathroom, etc.- Eula was gentle and that comforting presence that helped my mother adjust to all of it. Eula’s jokes would make my mother chuckle. I truly appreciated Eula so much.

I was also hospitalized last year for almost a month in 2023-where I coded from a thyroid storm, afib, acute CHF in the ICU. After being in the ICU, I was then transferred to PCU. I realize that Eula had also taken such good care of me back then, but I couldn’t quite remember her name last year. But you never forget special people like her. I remember her voice, her caring and funny jokes, and taking such good care of me. I wanted to ask her about it this time when she took care of my mother, but I doubted that she would remember. But if there is a way to let her know that I am also grateful for taking such good care of me as well, I would appreciate it. Special people like her definitely need to be recognized. My family and I will remember her for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much.
