It is not uncommon for Irene Williams to provide extra for our ED patients. She is always kind and considerate and treats every patient with the utmost dignity and respect. This morning, we had a patient asleep in the lobby after he was seen and discharged. The patient was unhoused and was waiting until the morning to try and catch the bus to his dialysis appointment. Irene provided a bus schedule for the patient. She then found out he had no cash for the bus, so she secured the patient a bus pass. Lastly, the patient had already been here for many hours, so she called FNS and got him a hot breakfast. When the tray was delivered to the ED, the patient had already proceeded to the bus stop to wait, so Irene delivered the tray outside to the bus stop to ensure the patient received it.
