I was admitted with severe left shoulder pain and cardiac concerns. She worked diligently to help control the pain by contacting my doctor for stronger pain medication as well as setting up a schedule so I could get pain relief without delay. She coordinated with the phlebotomist for blood draws that didn't interfere with other ongoing needs. She helped my wife communicate with me during the ice storm and at other times. She also coordinated quickly and efficiently with my doctors and other medical staff. Brandy facilitated my discharge by ordering medications from the pharmacy for me to take home. She took me by wheelchair to pick up the prescriptions at the hospital pharmacy and assisted me from the wheelchair into the car for my trip home. Brandy's care was above and beyond the good care I expected. Brandy was my nurse during a previous hospital stay, during which she was diligent, accessible, responsive, competent, professional, and caring as she was during this hospitalization. That indicates to me that her extraordinary care is constant. Brandy L is the caliber of nurse South Shore and Aurora needs to retain and recognize.
