I was admitted to the hospital with a collapsed lung three days after my daughter passed away. I didn’t get to make it to her funeral because I was very sick with a chest tube. I was absolutely crushed. Jessica talked with me, hugged me, and let me tell her all about my amazing daughter. She stayed on top of my pain and anxiety meds and checked on me and my family every chance she got. I can’t imagine a pain worse than what I’m going through, and I couldn’t have gotten through it without this nurse. Her bedside manner was amazing. She really did it all; she was a nurse, a friend, and a support system for me during this time. If I had questions or concerns, she addressed them right away and put my mind at ease while my heart was broken. She came in every morning with a smile on her face and checked in with me before she left each shift. Jessica Basham was truly wonderful to me, and I am so grateful. I’ll never forget her kindness through the darkest part of my life.
