During a recent home visit, Kemba assessed an infant with upper respiratory issues. The parent did not realize the severity, but Kemba informed the parent to take the infant to emergency care. Because of the trust the parent has with the nurse, the parent followed Kamba’s professional advice and took her infant to ER where the infant was hospitalized for a few days. Kemba goes beyond what is expected. Kemba makes sure to inform clients about community or program events and resources via email correspondence, but also shares inspiring quotes to form a sense of community among the first-time parents. Many of Kembas’s clients face challenges with mental health issues and she helps clients to seek and obtain the individualized care needed to meet their psychogical needs. Kemba shines as a knowledgeable and skilled nurse who is also compassionate and goes above and beyond to empower first-time parents.
