Tanya Layne has a unique approach to patient care that is a consistent and a persistent approach to every patient's home she enters. Her primary goal is to have them feel cared for, listened to, and their illness validated. She receives many compliments by families and patients because of her level of communication, teaching, and mentoring she provides during her visit interactions.

In addition, one night she was assigned an admission for a patient being discharged from the hospital, and the case was challenging in that the patient had multiple medical needs. She walked into the home, found the patient lying on the floor with her legs resting on a suitcase. Her son didn't know what to do, as he was emotionally distraught. Tanya stayed in that home for over two hours and went back twice that night. The patient's son said, "Tanya was an angel, I could have never have expected such a caring nurse."
