Patients love her and always leave happy as she shows patience, compassion, and empathy for every patient and team member. She handles every situation with a calming and caring mindset. She is the light of the Endo tunnel.
Natasha Ortego goes above and beyond for our patients, and she shows the true meaning of Compassion. No matter the situation, Natasha is always kind, courteous, and smiling, and she really brings the Spirit of Christus to her patients and co-workers. Natasha is amazing as she handles any task or patient concern which comes her way with finesse. Patients love her kindness, smile, and her true compassion in taking care of their patients. She is definitely a team player and never complains. She is able to handle any situation with true compassion for the department. Natasha is a true, dedicated Christus Associate and she takes pride in her work. She definitely is one RN who truly deserves this award.
COMPASSION - Natasha shows true compassion when caring for her patients as well as working with other co-workers. She never complains, she is always smiling and welcoming to everyone. Natasha is the epitome of the word Compassion, and she definitely shines daily. This award would be one small token of appreciation for all she does and the compassion she delivers daily.

I am nominating Natasha because I feel that she deserves the DAISY Award. She started in Endoscopy 4 years ago and has been a tremendous asset to the team since then. She is a fast and eager learner, has a wonderful bedside manner, and has exceptional decision-making skills. She is always more than willing to go above and beyond to help anyone, whether that be a fellow nurse, tech, or patient. She is a team-player and gets along with everyone she interacts with, and our doctors and physicians enjoy working with her as well. She makes my job easier on a regular basis and she is a joy to work with. Every day, Natasha comes to work with a smile on her face and a greeting for everyone. She is kind, personable, and not only an exceptional member of our team but a great friend as well. She is a true example of everything Christus stands for. I can't say enough how thankful I am that Natasha is a part of our team.

This nurse is a true blessing to our department, to not only our patients but her team as well. She goes above and beyond to make patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible. You will never see her pass a patient, visitor or coworker in the hall without a smile on his/her face. The core value that this nurse exemplifies the most is compassion. It is apparent in the care of her patients that this nurse is truly invested in the care, outcomes and comfort of the patients. Whether it is making sure the patients feel prepared for their procedure, to helping them recover and cope with any news they may receive, this nurse is there for the patient in any way that they need. She is a team player and is willing to help in whatever way she is needed to provide the best experience for our patients.

Natasha always shows up and helps everyone on the team without anyone ever asking.. she looks out for every patient, and goes above and beyond to make them comfortable. She has stayed late numerous times to help me with my patients. Patients love her and always leave happy as she shows patience, compassion, and empathy for every patient and team member. She handles every situation with a calming and caring mindset. She is the light of the Endo tunnel. She always takes the RIGHT path rather than the EASY one. She is very thoughtful and remembers patients who return, asking them about previous endeavors discussed at their last visit. It’s hard to choose one.. she shows them all. But if I had to choose, I would say compassion. She shows concern and empathy for every patient and is a great communicator, considering every aspect of the patient’s care.

I can tell you from experience that Natasha exhibits Excellence, Dignity, and Compassion. I was so anxious about a test I had to have and she was so compassionate. She explained the procedure in detail and was so patient with me, going slowly and explaining each step again as we went along. I wouldn't want to do that test every day but Natasha made it so much easier than I ever thought it could be. Instead of rushing to try to get done, Natasha took the time to make me feel comfortable. Her patience and compassion helped me get through the test and have a successful outcome. Excellence. Natasha treated me with Dignity and Compassion, and those together show her Excellence.
