He said, "Doing what you did was a very brave decision, and I'm so proud of you for seeking help; not many people older than you would seek help."
I was admitted to AH Union outpatient psych department in the emergency room. I was experiencing a mental health crisis because of a bad reaction to my medication, Prozac, and became very suicidal and just not in the right space of mind. I was on the last day of my 72-hour hold and Nurse Chris seriously made my experience so much more calming. As an 18-year-old who admitted herself to the hospital. I felt so lonely and embarrassed about my mental health issues. My anxiety about being sent to a mental hospital was very bad. Chris sat down on the ground and talked to me about every step of the process of my admission and told me I was not alone. He said, "Doing what you did was a very brave decision, and I'm so proud of you for seeking help; not many people older than you would seek help." It's nice to see male healthcare workers have empathy and passion for what they do. I wanted to reach out and thank Nurse Chris for helping me out through such a hard and difficult time in my life. He's truly a great nurse who deserves so much, and I would love to hear back from him.
