I went into Labor & Delivery to be induced with my first pregnancy. Nothing seemed to be going as planned as far as the induction…having to delay because of baby’s heart rate, balloon not working to help me dilate, etc. Katie was my day nurse on the second day. She immediately came into my room, introduced herself, recognized my pain, and was there to do whatever was necessary to help me. She was informative, kind, and had an amazing personality all the way around. She explained everything in great detail, answered all my questions, and eased my anxiety when I needed it. When it came time for my epidural, she helped calm my nerves, held my hands, and talked me through it. She was 100% the nurse I needed to get through it. She was attentive, and when complications came up, she was right there by my side. I told her I needed her to be there until I had my baby - that’s when she informed me that she got off at 3! I was very disappointed because I knew she was the best nurse to get me through my delivery. Well, my baby had other plans, and we ended up heading into a c-section around 2-2:30. My sweet nurse Katie was there with me and stayed until she knew my baby girl was okay. She is a true angel in human form! I can’t thank her enough for being such a gem of a person. She is the epitome of what a nurse should be, and that should not go unnoticed! Thank you, Katie!!
