Njolle has not only made me feel comfortable, but she also has reminded me that I'm important and that getting better is just as important.
I came to rehab after having a fall one month post-surgery and stayed at Shady Grove Hospital for one week after my fall, and then came to rehab for two weeks of recovery. I met one of my nurses, Njolle, three days after admission to rehab. Emotionally, I have sort of been a mess, dealing with things at home and work. Njolle immediately made me feel comfortable and "at home." She always asks how I am doing in the mornings and makes sure I am sleeping during the night.

Njolle explains what all my meds are for before giving them to me. She questions me to make sure I understand. Njolle had to do a catheter procedure on me twice, and she was very comforting and gentle. She explained each process to me, and we got through it! So far, my stay here at AHCR has been great. I had an issue with the first room I was in, so I requested to be moved. The charge nurse and nurse manager were quick to get me into a different room the next day. The staff here have made me feel good about being here and making sure I'm comfortable and have everything I need. Njolle has not only made me feel comfortable, but she also has reminded me that I'm important and that getting better is just as important. She has been a joyous reminder of my mom, who passed away in 2021. Overall, Njolle has been my favorite nurse, and I really hope to have her more in the next week while I'm here.
