My dad was admitted to the ED with a brain bleed, and our family made the difficult decision to withdraw care and put my dad on comfort care and hospice. When my dad was transferred, the first thing we saw was Lia in the room to greet my dad, my mom, and me. My mom and I debated staying overnight. Lia offered us recliners, and then as we debated going home, Lia told us that she would take great care of my dad while also putting our concerns at ease by promising a phone call if my dad declined overnight. My mom and I left and returned in the morning.

We received an update on the Care she gave my dad, and it was amazing. The care she gave my mom, and I was also above and beyond. And then she did it again for night number two. All the nurses, PCTs, and chaplains were great. Lia stood out for her amazing care of my dad and the family. My dad will be discharged to Alexian Hospice House this evening, but I need to acknowledge the wonderful care Lia gave my dad during this difficult time.
