Mary is trustworthy and goes the extra mile to ensure she encompasses the patient’s spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being patient care daily.
I am blessed and honored to announce our 2024 DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree: Mary Love
The DAISY Award and our own SSM Professional Practice model mirror one another in their values of compassion, respect, excellence, community, and stewardship. Our honoree is an example of each of the SSM PPM “I am” statements.
I am a professional: She obtained both a BSN and a Master's. She completed and held her national certification in her specialty field of Infection Prevention.
I am an advocate: She promotes empathy, healing, and compassion to all patients she serves and meets them where they are at in their healthcare journey.
I am a partner: She not only collaborates with the patients but with the entire interdisciplinary team. She assesses all patients and situations to ensure the right care is delivered.
I am accountable: She holds herself and the team to the highest standards. She is trustworthy and goes the extra mile to ensure she encompasses the patient’s spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being patient care daily.
I am a leader: She led and worked tirelessly with the nursing team during the pandemic. She sacrificed her time to be at the beside with the staff. She leads today in her current role by helping educate the patients, nursing staff, and providers on end-of-life decisions.
