Cindy goes above and beyond for her patients. She will come in early or stay late to accommodate them. She makes sure they are always comfortable when they are getting chemo and provides them with what they need: a small snack, a warm blanket, a kind word, a joke, or even a hug.

She develops close relationships with oncology patients and their families and is always a source of support and comfort to them. We had a patient in the oncology clinic who was not doing well and was admitted to the hospital. Every day before and after her shift, Cindy would visit with this patient to support him through those difficult times. Cindy has spent her own time making a care package with snacks to send home with them.

She greets everyone with a friendly hello and always goes out of her way to make others' lives better, whether it is by visiting with patients or acknowledging coworkers’ achievements. For example, we had an unusually busy day that could have easily gone poorly. The pharmacy technician handled the multiple infusions quickly, and patient care was not delayed. Cindy appreciated the technician by verbally appreciating her for how she handled the situation and by bringing her grapes – the technician’s favorite snack.
