Nic not only fulfilled this request but also brought four cups, allowing the family to share a tea party together.
Nic cared for a gravely ill patient whose family hoped for his recovery, though it was clear his last days would be spent in the hospital. The family stayed by his side, trying to help as best they could. Nic and the other nurses supported both the family and the patient during this difficult time.

One night, the patient decided to stop all treatments. Nic continued to provide both physical and emotional support to the patient and his family. The patient, who hadn't eaten or drunk much for days, mentioned he wanted some tea. Nic not only fulfilled this request but also brought four cups, allowing the family to share a tea party together.

In this sad and challenging time, Nic's thoughtfulness gave the family a few moments of joy and normalcy. The patient's wife was so moved by this act that she waited for our Director the next morning to express her gratitude, highlighting how much it mean to her and their two daughters. As the patient's condition worsened, the entire unit continued to support the family. When the patient passed away, his wife again expressed her appreciation, especially for Nic's tea party, which had a lasting impact on them. Nic's kindness, no matter how small, made a significant impact on the patient and his family. I believe Nic has shown the exceptional care and thoughtfulness that define an extraordinary nurse.
