Our experience with Jera during a particularly challenging time in our lives left an indelible mark on our hearts. Following a long and exhausting day, my husband and I welcomed twins into the world, with one of them requiring immediate care in the NICU. Overwhelmed with emotions, stress, and fatigue, we found solace in Jera's unwavering compassion and support.   Despite the chaos of the moment, Jera stepped in with grace and empathy, offering to watch over our daughter while we visited the NICU to be with our son. Her presence brought a sense of relief and reassurance, allowing us to focus on our son's needs while knowing that our daughter was in capable hands. Throughout our interaction, Jera not only demonstrated exceptional clinical competence but also listened attentively to our concerns and fears. She served as a steadfast advocate for our family, ensuring that our voices were heard and our needs addressed. In the midst of uncertainty, Jera provided a beacon of comfort and compassion, embodying the true essence of nursing care. Her dedication to our family's well-being went above and beyond the call of duty, leaving an enduring impact that we will forever cherish. I was very fortunate to have Jera as my nurse that night. She was always one step ahead of anything that I needed or would need. She helped me in ways that I would have never imagined I needed. My spouse wasn’t feeling well at all and was assisting as much as he could, and without Jera even knowing, she was the extra support that I needed in order to get through this birth. She talked me through contractions, held my hand, and gave me different ideas on positions. Jera knew I had a birth plan, and she quickly adapted to what I wanted and gave suggestions that helped improve my plan. She talked me through things I didn’t understand or gave an explanation that made more sense to me. I never felt as if I was being talked at instead, I was having a conversation and making decisions that would give me a better outcome for me. I can tell that throughout my entire experience with Jera, she genuinely cared, and her personality made everything so much more pleasant. When I think about the birth of my beautiful daughter, I will forever think of how much Jera made a difference in this process. I was slightly jealous/disappointed that I didn’t have her as my nurse for the 3rd night in a row, but I believe I mentioned to her that I didn’t like the change, so she popped in to say hi and said great things about the nurse that I was assigned to that night and made the change a little bit more bearable. She is a nurse who not only goes above and beyond but does it with genuine compassion.
