Astajia also conducts numerous mock drills and simulation sessions with our night shift nurses to enhance their knowledge and teach them the importance of collaboratively working as an interdisciplinary team.
Astajia has positively impacted our night shift team. Astajia helped mold a collaborative working environment, while consistently supporting the frontline staff in their daily work and emergent situations. She is consistently kind, professional and competent in her interactions.
During my early morning rounds, our night shift nurses share many positive comments about Astajia. The comments always reflect Astajia’s kind and funny demeanor, caring attitude and ability to help them navigate through questions and difficult moments. Astajia also conducts numerous mock drills and simulation sessions with our night shift nurses to enhance their knowledge and teach them the importance of collaboratively working as an interdisciplinary team. Many new graduate nurses verbalized to me their gratitude of having Astajia’s constant support and guidance.
Most importantly, Astajia firmly upholds our I-CARE core values in her communication and actions. Astajia is a Nurse Educator, coach and role model to the team. As Maya Angelou once said: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.” This has been Astajia’s goal ever since she started her role as a Nurse Educator- to keep raising the bar for one another and our patients. I am so grateful to have Astajia as part of the team.
